Everyday, people also use those softwares to make low-cost calls to landlines and mobiles.

ReplyDeleteI use skype religiously. I don't even use a home phone service. I use cell for local and use skype for my long distance or overseas calls.
ReplyDeleteGenerally I am under the impression that VoIP will have a huge impact on the telco business. The relevant companies will certainly have to move and find ways to create a sustainable business model.
ReplyDeleteWorking in an international ad agency with offices all over the world, using VoIP has actually really cut down on our telephone costs. we regulary use it with colleagues from all over the world instead of the regular landline as a part of our cost-efficiency programm.
On a personal level, Skype is definitely an asset that has improved my life and international communication enourmously.
